What is a “how to attract investors” MasterClass and how is it organised?

A “how to attract investors” MasterClass is a one or two day workshop on how to successfully obtain financing. During the class we will go through: how to stay in the game, thus how to avoid the investors’ dustbin. Until now more than 60 MasterClasses have been successfully conducted in more than 15 countries. Why not also organize a Master Class in your own local environment.

The contents for each MasterClass is tailored to the individual organiser’s need allowing for specific sector relevant information to be presented.

The structure and basic contents is as follows:

  • Screening for investors; - What are investors interested to invest in?
  • Investor screening of business plans; - How does an investor read a business plan?
  • Selection; - We will look at the most common pitfalls the entrepreneur encounters.
  • Negotiating and financing; - What to look for when entering the negotiation phase.
  • Investors as co-owners; - We look at the relationship with investors as co-owners.

What are the components of a MasterClass:
The award winning self assessment tool SAT-Pro is used as the underlying structure for a Master Class, but is also used to check that all the information an investor requires is readily available in a business plan. The SAT-Pro test includes a budgetary module that enables the participant of the MasterClass to check how their investment proposal will look through the eyes of an investor.

This and other tools provide the structure and foundation for the discussions and breakout sessions during the Master Class.
A MasterClass is always tailored to the participants needs.
The SAT-Pro and SAT-Competence test are available in 12 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Latvian, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Slovenian and Polish.

The MasterClass is also available on-line for the participants to revisit the lectures at their convenience. Another popular feature of MasterClass is our web based video telephone coaching follow up session. This “after class coaching” solves the problem which we are all too well acquainted with: the questions we forgot to ask while we were at the class.

A MasterClass is organised together with a local partner, typically a university, an association, an incubator or an entrepreneurship centre. As part of the planning of a Master Class we discuss the composition of participants, Entrepreneurs or Advisors and Innovation Professionals? – Or a combination of the two.

Together we also determine if it is to be a one day class or a two day class. The two day class is the most popular because it allows for better individual coaching of the participants.
We have conducted more than 60 MasterClasses in 15 different countries. It is usually held in English sometimes assisted by an interpreter translating into the local language.
